LOT DESCRIPTION

When Cisitalia Automobili embarked on engineering its strictly limited run of 25 bespoke 202 SMM Nuvolari Spyder continuations, an authentic physical benchmark was paramount. With only 31 original Cisitalia 202 Spiders handcrafted in period and just 9 believed to have survived, a usable historic survivor was unobtainable - hence we bought this car.

Built directly from blueprints measured from a genuine 1947 survivor by celebrated Argentine coachbuilder Alain Baudena (Baufer), this vehicle faithfully captures Giovanni Savonuzzi’s aerodynamic Mille Miglia envelope body. Hand-formed in lightweight aluminium over a dedicated tubular spaceframe, it represents the definitive physical benchmark.

Recognising its millimetre-accurate geometry, Cisitalia Automobili acquired the vehicle to serve as its official factory development prototype. The chassis was high-precision 3D laser-scanned to blueprint frame architecture for the marque’s revival, while also serving as the factory’s premier press car.

This is an unrepeatable opportunity to acquire “Car Zero” - the verified physical link connecting post-war Argentine coachbuilding heritage with the 21st-century Cisitalia continuation story.
