Cisitalia 202 SMM Spyder Recreation
The Foundational Reference Platform & Bespoke Coachbuilt Commission Overview
This 202 SMM was our second handcrafted aluminium bodyshell and Tubular chassis for evaluation of our Cisitalia Automobili Continuations.
A singular acquisition opportunity in early post-war Italian sports racing heritage: the foundational reference platform of the legendary 1947 Cisitalia 202 SMM (Spyder Mille Miglia)
Originally conceived by Giovanni Savonuzzi and immortalised by Tazio Nuvolari’s heroic drive in the 1947 Mille Miglia, the 202 SMM remains one of the purest, most celebrated aerodynamic barchetta designs in automotive history.
This vehicle platform was hand-constructed using Alain Baudena (Baufer) technical blueprints measured directly from a surviving 1947 Cisitalia 202 SMM, serving as the physical reference buck and chassis platform commissioned for the official Cisitalia 25-car continuation program.
We are offering this historic platform under two distinct routes: as an unpainted, uncompleted rolling structure for private collection and restoration workshops, or commissioned directly through Lanes Cars as a finished, road-registered turnkey barchetta.
